... but I hope your university course includes practical exams, in which case I will list some features that a medium/high-end PC must have:

At least 8 GB of RAM

A good processor because this component is the one that is used while programming, there are various sites for benchmarks, I recommend i5, i7, ryzen5 and ryzen7, there are several, of different generations, the newest are the best performers, if you find several PCs with similar characteristics but different processors you can (as I said) consult their performance on the various benchmark sites (just google i7 8750 vs ryzen 5 blah blah blah)

At least 512 GB SSD, don't compromise, the SSD is fundamental for the fluidity of the PC, with 512 GB you should be able to install a lot of programs, even more than necessary, but it is well known, having space in memory is never a bad thing

This point is (maybe) optional, I'd say that if the pc also has 2 GB of dedicated graphics card it's a good thing, you might need to indulge in gaming, work with satellite images (it happened to me in image processing), edit videos or other stuff that requires a graphics card.

Connectivity

When shopping, computer science students should look for laptops compatible with Gigabit Wi-Fi. This type of Internet gives you faster speeds and better connectivity to the school's wireless network!

Weight

Weight is important for computer science students who need to carry their computers around campus. Make sure the laptop you choose weighs less than 5 lbs.

Computing Courses in the field mentioned above are mainly taken by programmers, both beginners and experienced professionals. They are divided into several categories:

Those who have wanted to take the plunge into the world of IT on their own and have learnt programming languages. Usually one of them. Then the learning stopped.
Those who realize that in today's world progress and development is based on IT technologies that are constantly improving. Such people don't sit still, they learn new things all the time. They know a lot about Computer Science. They are able to think out of the box solutions of different tasks.
In the first case workers cannot be called lazy - they just deal with the "standard" duties. These people are well suited for solving typical tasks and writing elementary applications.

The second option is more systemic. These kinds of specialists are willing to engage in the development of innovative software. Workers make a variety of utilities for the business, improving it at a minimum cost. Full and continuous development is ensured.

It is also worth noting that Computer Science is also a very promising high-paying field. Subordinates in the chosen field not only gain self-improvement and invaluable knowledge, but also a decent income.

It is a field that needs to be explored, as technological advances are taking a larger and larger place in everyday life with each passing year. Without a basic knowledge of the area mentioned, it will soon be impossible to do without it.
